The following questions and answers are designed to help you understand the research-paper publishing programme of the Journal of Medicine, Engineering, Environmental and Physical Sciences (JOMEEPS).

  1. What is the goal of JOMEEPS’ publishers?

The goal of the publishers of the Journal of Medicine, Engineering, Environmental and Physical Sciences (JOMEEPS) is to provide and sustain an international multidisciplinary platform for assembling, publishing and sharing research papers among researchers in the fields of medicine, engineering, environmental and physical sciences.

  1. When is JOMEEPS published?

JOMEEPS is a bimonthly journal; it is published every two months (January, March, May, July, September, and November). It is published at the end of the month.

  1. When do I submit my paper for publishing consideration?

You can submit your paper at any time. If accepted, your paper will be published in the next bimonthly issue of the journal.

  1. What areas of research is JOMEEPS interested in?

Our goal is to enhance and encourage cross-fertilization of ideas among scientists, engineers and technologists. As such, we welcome research papers in the following areas:

MEDICINE: research/development in medicine, surgery, and modern clinical practice; dentistry; nursing; pharmacy; basic medical sciences – anatomy, pathology, physiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, medical microbiology & parasitology, medical laboratory science; and related studies. 

ENGINEERING: research/development in the following or related fields: Civil Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Biotechnology Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Nanotechnology, Agricultural and Environmental Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Engineering Management, etc.

ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES: research/development in the following or related fields: Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Environmental Pollution and Management, Hydroclimatology, Ecology, Geology and Mining, Climate change; Environmental law, Environmental planning, Biostatistics, Environmental and biological conservation, Environmental health, and related researches.

PHYSICAL SCIENCES: research in pure/applied Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Mathematics and Statistics.

  1. How much would it cost me to publish my paper in JOMEEPS?

You will pay only $35 or ₦45,000 to publish your paper. This payment covers the cost of peer-review, online publication, indexing and life-time archive of your paper .

  1. How do I pay my paper-submission fee?

The first step to being published by JOMEEPS is to submit your paper. Whether you are paying from within or outside Nigeria, the letter conveying the Editorial Board’s acceptance of your paper shall indicate how you will pay your paper-publication fee.

  1. What happens after I submit my paper to JOMEEPS?

Your paper, as submitted, is peer-reviewed, and either approved or disapproved. If approved, that approval is communicated to you and you will be asked to pay the paper-publication fee to enable JOMEEPS proceed with further processing of your paper. Thereafter, your paper is checked for plagiarism and editing/presentation errors; then, your paper’s web page is designed and hosted. If copyright infringements are identified in your paper, the editor-in-chief might correct them or your attention may be drawn to them and you will be asked to correct them. JOMEEPS will guide you on how to rework and resubmit your paper for publication if you have paid its publication fee.

  1. What could make JOMEEPS refuse to publish my paper?

JOMEEPS would refuse to publish any paper that is poorly researched, contains plagiarized materials, libelous statements or pornographic matter.

  1. What if a submitted paper fails JOMEEPS’ plagiarism test after the author has paid the fee, would JOMEEPS refund the author’s money?

No, but such authors would be entitled to being published by JOMEEPS in the next issue of the journal or any other future issue if they avail themselves of any of these two remedial options:

(i) substantially rework their paper, painstakingly excising all aspects of the paper lifted from someone else’s work or expressly using quotation marks to identify such portions and clearly indicating their authors.

(ii) submit another well-research and properly-referenced paper for the consideration of JOMEEPS Editorial Board.

10. Do you publish hard-copy editions of JOMEEPS?

JOMEEPS is primarily an online journal and the aforesaid payment covers only the online publication which anyone can have access to any time. However, a hard copy or copies of the journal, upon special request, can be produced for a contributor who orders and pays for their printing, binding and shipping.
